Structa worked with a fabrication company to develop and design a new welcome sign to occupy a focal point at the entrance to Aberdeen Airport. BAA required an eye catching structure, that would be aesthetically pleasing, as well as providing an advertising income opportunity, but that would also satisfy the local planning authority.

Structa liaised with the steel fabricator to develop the idea of the structure, before providing structural design and details for the steel multi-arch structure and concrete foundations. Structa also attended site during the erection process to ensure that everything went smoothly during a short road closure period to avoid airport disruption.
